Company History

The EDAPS Consortium is a world leader in the protected printing industry and the originator of this branch of industry in Ukraine.

Since 2004 the Consortium has accomplished large state and corporate projects on the development and implementation of identification documents, registers, databases, automated systems of data recording and management.

The dynamics of the Consortium development is based on innovations and the unique synergy of collaboration of different profile companies securing a closed production cycle.

The EDAPS Consortium is a global group of leading companies that possesses its own world level scientific base, and a highly technological production and service network for the support and accompaniment of “turnkey” projects.        

The Most Remarkable Events in Consortium History:

    • March 2004. The Consortium wins the bid for the development and implementation of highly protected travel passports for Ukrainian citizens.
    • September 2004. The presentation of the State Center for Document Personalization – the largest contemporary enterprise in Europe specializing in the personalization (data submittal) of identification documents with a high degree of protection against forgery.
    • December 2004. For the first time in the history of the former USSR states, the Consortium becomes an associate member of the International Confederation for Printing and Allied Industries INTERGRAF.
    • July 2005. ZNAK Ltd. begins its manufacturing activity. ZNAK Ltd. is one of leading world manufacturers of plastic cards and blanks for identification documents.
    • January 2006. Implementation in Ukraine of the new generation of plastic documents – national driver’s licenses and vehicle registration certificates.
    • June 2007. Presentation of a development in the manufacture of passport documents – the electronic (biometric) travel passport.
    • June 2007. As part of the state program, the Consortium launches the implementation of the new type of highly protected travel passport with a polycarbonate data page.
    • October 2007. The leader of information technologies market of Ukraine INCOM CJSC becomes a member of the EDAPS Consortium.
    • February 2008. Specialized enterprise HOLOGRAPHY, a member of the EDAPS Consortium, presents the technology of metal coating removal from ultra-high resolution holograms. 
    • April 2008. The Consortium wins  the international bid for the establishment of a demographic register in Kenya. The Consortium concludes an agreement with De Beers Diamond Jewelers (Great Britain) regarding a strategic partnership in the development of a global system of De Beers jewelry identification: the manufacture of passports for diamonds to secure the authenticity of jewelry pieces which will be on sale worldwide.
    • May 2008. The Consortium produces the millionth travel passport of the new type. The Consortium wins the bid for the manufacture of blanks production for the Ministry of Internal Affairs system.
    •  July-August 2008. The Consortium wins bids on the development of the State Register of Voters of Ukraine.
    • August 2008. The EDAPS Consortium is in the rating of the top 50 electronic document manufacturers.
    • September 2008. POLLY-SERVICE Ltd., a member of the EDAPS Consortium, opens the Interbank Bureau of Payment Cards Personalization, the best in Europe.
    • November 2008. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine opens a modern Interregional Center for the Issuance of Passport Documents established in close cooperation with the EDAPS Consortium.
