DEVELOPMENTS
The Consortium is an organization oriented toward meeting clients’ needs. The production capacities of the Consortium enterprises were created with a view to the latest global achievements in the field of information technologies.
The developments and technologies that the Consortium participants possess help solve issues on:
- manufacture of blanks for the new generation of documents on plastic base, and plastic cards (including payment cards). ZNAK Ltd. has the unique technology of manufacturing blanks of polycarbonate pages for passport documents;
- manufacture of paper document blanks and other printing products with reliable security elements (registered forms);
- manufacture of holographic security elements for documents and goods. Specialized Enterprise HOLOGRAPHY is the only enterprise in Ukraine that manufactures high technology holograms, and it is among the top 3 world manufacturers of holographic security elements. In 2008 Specialized Enterprise HOLOGRAPHY presented the technology of metal coating removal from ultra-high resolution holograms;
- personalization of plastic cards and document blanks. The Interbank Bureau of Payment Cards Outsourcing and Personalization, known as the best in Europe, operates as part of the Consortium. The Bureau was created by POLLY-SERVICE Company. For the State Center for Document Personalization, the Consortium implemented state-of-the-art technologies of laser engraving and perforation. Due to these technologies Ukraine has an opportunity to personalize plastic identification documents and secure them against counterfeit;
- design, supply and development of automated database systems and the accompaniment and administration of complex information systems. KP-VTI JSC and INCOM CJSC are system integrators in the area of information technologies. They possess the required scientific potential and powerful computer equipment; they manufacture their product based on the platforms, operational systems and programs of leading manufacturers;
- implementation of electronic travel documents with biometric data. In 2006-2007 the Consortium presented its developments in the area of passport documents – the electronic (biometric) travel passport. The technology, developed by the EDAPS Consortium, makes it possible to read the data of the passport holder recorded on a chip, and later transmit it to the monitor of the passport terminal within less than 2 seconds. The ICAO standard requires that the procedure be accomplished in not more than 5 seconds.
Intellectual Property
Scientists and specialists of the EDAPS Consortium constantly perform scientific investigations and develop new technologies and products. During the period of the Consortium’s operation the enterprises have registered more than 80 intellectual property (IP) objects, securing the protection of their rights for all the products and technologies they developed.
