On June 26, 2007 the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers adopted Resolution No. 858 “On approving the description and sample for a Ukrainian travel passport and on amending certain acts of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.” This executive decision was made pursuant to the Verkhovna Rada Resolution from 02.23.07 “On Amending the Verkhovna Rada Resolution ‘Decree on Ukrainian Passport and Birth Certificate.’” As a result of these regulations Ukraine will manufacture and issue new travel passports that meet all the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The EDAPS Consortium members and employees are honored and express their sincere gratitude to the Supreme Council, the President and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for their support in the implementation of the state of the art IT technologies developed entirely by the Ukrainian experts. To avoid any glitches in the production of the new passports, starting on June 27, 2007 all of the Consortium’s enterprises have been working around the clock. In order to prevent any manipulations by those officials who vehemently oppose the implementation of the new world-standard documents in Ukraine, the EDAPS Consortium is prepared to offer free consultations to Ukrainian citizens and record any abuse of power or red tape incidents in local passport offices. The EDAPS Consortium has a special message for Ukrainian citizens residing abroad: some officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs may resist issuing the new travel passports to Ukrainians. Because of this the EDAPS Consortium is issuing an official notice to inform Ukrainians that there are no restrictions on applying for a new travel passport at any Ukrainian consulate, regardless of the country where it is located. New travel passport information. The new passport has a dark blue cover. The personal data page is a multilayer polycarbonate sheet protected by security features. Laser engraving is used to enter all the data on the polycarbonate page. The passport’s visa pages feature a national theme background design, created using ornaments and symbols of different administrative regions of our country. The new passport uses 25 levels of protection. To compare, the Ukrainian currency has only 17 levels of protection. All Ukrainian citizens are encouraged to report any incidents of delay in passport processing or abuse of power on part of the officials by: Fax: +38 044 561-25-85 E-mail: edaps@edaps.biz The EDAPS Consortium will soon launch a website where citizens will be able to track their applications online by entering the application number.
