ZNAK LTD. SUCCESSFULLY PASSES DERZHZNAK INSPECTION

On February 19-20 ZNAK Ltd., member of the EDAPS Consortium successfully passed the inspection for the compliance with the license terms and regulations regarding the manufacture of highly protected registered blanks on plastic base

The scheduled inspection was carried out by the Department of Securities, Excise Stamps, Registered Documents and Holographic Security Elements Production Control (Derzhznak) at the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine. This inspection is mandatory annually for all enterprises involved in the production of registered document blanks. The outcome of the inspection determines whether the license for the specified type of activity will be endorsed.

The license confirms the right of ZNAK Ltd., member of the EDAPS Consortium, to manufacture plastic vehicle registration certificates and national driving licenses.

Presently, ZNAK Ltd. is the only Ukrainian enterprise that has all the necessary manufacturing capacities, technologies and licenses for the production of registered plastic documents. Since 2004 ZNAK Ltd. has confirmed that the enterprise’s level of production allows manufacture of highly protected documents which are hard to counterfeit.

In his interview to Our Product Mr. Igor Popovich, Director of ZNAK Ltd. said that confirmation of such licenses is a regular pattern for the enterprise. «We annually have to go through such procedures just like any other holders of such licenses. However, apart from the license of the Ministry of Finance, ZNAK also confirms annually licenses of Visa and Master Card, and the State Security Service of Ukraine (on March 12 ZNAK Ltd. is planning to endorse its license before the above-mentioned state body – Editor).

VISA qualified ZNAK Ltd. as a showpiece enterprise of the CEMEA

Owing to the high technological level of manufacture and labor organization, which are annually confirmed by licensing, ZNAK Ltd. sets the tone in the level of business-processes optimization and quality of security elements manufacture not only in Ukraine, but also in Europe. For instance, supervising experts who confirm Visa and Master Card licenses added to their lists of requirements for production organization those implemented at ZNAK Ltd.»

It is worth mentioning that ZNAK Ltd. is also a certified manufacturer of payment cards for MasterCard and Visa payment systems; therefore it annually undergoes auditing for compliance with their standards. For example, at the end of October 2008 the enterprise successfully passed the inspection of VISA International payment system (see Our Product, Issue 4/2008, pp. 19-20) and was qualified as a showpiece enterprise of the CEMEA region – Central and Eastern European, Middle Eastern and African countries.
