Manufacture of De Beers Diamond Passports

The EDAPS Consortium as part of a strategic partnership with De Beers Diamond Jewellers (Great Britain) takes part in the establishment of a global system of the identification of jewelry with the De Beers trademark, and issuance of diamond passports guaranteeing the authenticity of jewelry articles which are sold in De Beers shops worldwide.
The EDAPS Consortium has developed and launched the manufacture of passports certifying the authenticity of jewelry pieces of the De Beers trademark. It is a highly protected identification document in the form of a passport book with a polycarbonate data page. By means of the laser engraving method, all specific features of the De Beers article are recorded on the page.
The uniqueness of the technology is in the fact that the article data is not printed on the data page, but is contained inside the multilayer plastic. It is impossible to forge or alter the data on such a page.
The personalization of De Beers passports is performed at a specially established production complex – Personalization Bureau. High PCIDSS standards of physical and logical protection are implemented at the enterprise. These standards are applied to the manufacture of cards for international payment systems.
The passport is protected by 29 security elements, including an absolutely new development – an ultra-high resolution hologram with a selectively removed metal coating that has no comparison in the world http://hologr.com/.
The very latest technology of metal coating removal from holograms makes it possible to create security elements that combine an exceptionally high level of reliability with beautiful artistic features.
The EDAPS Consortium also provides secured access to De Beers data resources at all selling points in different countries of the world.
The De Beers articles data, recorded on the individual passports manufactured by EDAPS, will last for a lifetime. Passports, together with exclusive jewelry pieces manufactured by De Beers, can be passed from generation to generation.
For the better part of the 20th century the De Beers Company, established in 1888, has been selling virtually all diamonds extracted in the world. Using more than one hundred years of experience in the selection and classification of diamonds, the De Beers trademark denotes diamonds of the highest quality in the manufacture of its jewelry articles.
